WHAT YOU WILL HEAR

Today’s guests for On The Other Side are father-daughter duo, Jonathan and Alena Pitts. Jonathan is an author, speaker and the executive pastor at Church of the City in Franklin, Tennessee. Alena is a 16-year-old author, vocalist and actress, making her debut in the movie War Room. In this episode, we talk about being on the other side of losing someone.

On July 24th, 2018, Jonathan and his four daughters unexpectedly lost their wife and mom, Wynter. Jamie sat down with Jonathan and Alena to hear more about what life has been like since then. They open up about the reality of starting a life in a new city so soon after Wynter’s passing, navigating a household of people who are all grieving differently, and some of the ways they keep Wynter’s legacy alive in their day to day. Jonathan also shares what he has learned about the sovereignty of God through this season, and how encouraging that is as he walks through the unexpected with his four girls. He worded it so well when he said, “She served the purposes of God for her generation…and then she fell asleep. And I take solace in the fact that she did serve her purpose.” If you’re listening to this today and grieving the loss of a loved one, our prayer is that you can take comfort in the gift of God’s sovereignty no matter what you’re facing.
