WHAT YOU WILL HEAR

On October 16th, 2010, 18-year-old Chris Norton was playing college football at Luther College. After the kickoff, Chris did what he thought was a regular tackle. Still conscious and aware of his surroundings, he tried hard to push himself off the ground and get up. But he couldn’t. It was at that moment he realized something was terribly wrong and unfortunately suffered a severe spinal cord injury. This is Chris’ story of being on the other side of 3% odds.

Chris was told that he had a 3% chance of ever regaining movement and feeling below the neck. What sounded completely hopeless, he saw as an opportunity to conquer and be part of the 3%. He explains the emotional exhaustion of rehab, and the perseverance it took to keep trying. He says “The more responsibility you can accept, the better you’ll respond to adversity.” Chris’ story is so powerful and one we can all learn from.
