WHAT YOU WILL HEAR
Our guest for On The Other Side #8 is Jonathan McComb. This story is one of the hardest stories we have ever had to sit through while interviewing. In May of 2015, Jonathan experienced the worst night of his life: a flood in Wimberley, Texas that took the life of his entire family, and flipped his world upside down. His personal journey of fighting for his life on that horrible night was nothing short of a miracle in the midst of unimaginable tragedy. This is Jonathan’s story of rebuilding his life on the other side of the Wimberley flood.
We had heard about Jonathan’s story prior to meeting him, and we are truly humbled that he was willing to sit down with us and share about his life. He does go into detail and it is definitely a heavy episode, so if you have walked through traumatic death or the death of a child, you might need to sit this one out. In this episode, he recounts the night of the accident in heartbreaking detail, and what may sound like hours long of a journey was actually within minutes. He also shares about how he has remained grounded in his faith despite experiencing such a traumatic event. He says, “If my heart wasn’t broken, there wouldn’t have been a place for more love to fall in.” There is no other explanation for a hope like this besides Jesus. By the end of this interview, there was not a dry eye in the room. Although such a devastating story, we hope it reminds you that no matter what you are in the middle of, or on the other side of, you can always cling to our Solid Rock, Jesus. He is truly the only hope that we have.
